What's in a name?

I am officially joining the blogging world... maybe. I'm not sure how successful I'll be at maintaining such a site. With no cable and spotty internet service, I am trying to gain other hobbies. Hence, the blogging.

And all the cool kids are doing it.

Designing the blog was hard enough. You see, I have no creative bone in my body. I know I like green and black and that's about as far as I got. After many attempts at creating something aesthetically pleasing, I then had to come up with a name. Whhhaatt???? If mi hermanito, Scott, had to do this, he'd have something witty and clever in a second. Me? I got nothin'. It gave me a headache (not really) trying to figure something genius enough to make people think, funny enough to make people smile, clever enough to make people say "ahhh," and definitive enough that people know me a little bit better after reading the title of my blog. And you can see what I came up with: Chasing Plastic. Let me explain. No, that'd take too much time. Let me sum up. (Name the movie!)

Eric and I met on April 28, 2008 (I'm a math teacher - I like numbers). That summer in Rexburg was one of our best. We spent many nights out on the frisbee field. Well, actually, he played, I watched. And that is where I fell in love with him. I know ultimate frisbee is just a game, but he was so passionate about it. And he was good. Really good. Fantastically good. I loved to watch him sprint the field at speeds no *NeSmith could comprehend. It made him so happy, which made me so happy. He spent many hours that summer trying to teach me to throw a frisbee correctly, getting me in a running habit, and gaining a love of the game myself. It brought us together. Three years later, we're still chasing plastic.
